While having a swim and sipping some local wine in the Fall of 2007, my wife Alex and I wondered why there was nothing in the area that let people know about all the wines in the county. Even then, Alex said we should start a newspaper called Wine...Oh! and have the logo be a bum holding the paper over their head for cover. We both laughed and moved on with our day.

Two months later though, during a jaunt to the Santa Barbara wine country with our friends, The Myers, we discovered they had like five or six wine-related publications for the region. It was like, "Wow, and why does Contra Costa County have nothing?" On the drive back home we all continued to bat around a ton of ideas as to what we would put in our own publication.

When we came home, Neil Cohn, owner of Hannah Nicole Vineyards, listened to my crazy idea, encouraged me with his knowledge of the area and told me to get in touch with Becky Bloomfield from Bloomfield Vineyards to add some more. From there, Becky set us up to present Wine...Oh! to the Contra Costa Grape, Wine & Olive Growers Association. And now, here we are...the ONLY wine publication in Contra Costa County...for all the vintners...for all the wine enthusiasts...for all the Wine...Oh!s in Contra Costa County.
